Africa's Leasing

Leaseback

An arrangement where the owner of an asset sells it to another party and immediately leases it back. This provides immediate cash while retaining use. Example: A Thika coffee factory owns processing machinery outright but needs KES 5,000,000 for a new export contract. It sells the machinery to a leasing company and leases it back for 3 years, unlocking cash without disrupting production.
